friday five: ebay, food, albums

I have learned that there is a blog at that posts 5 questions every friday for the world to answer :) While I love and appreciate the thefridayfive, they did not take me up on my offer to help with posts and administration. that's just how it goes sometimes. I can't throw rocks, I've started plenty of lj communities without sustaining them forever. We all do what we can.

But I still love a few lightweight friday writing prompts so let's get on this one!

What was the last thing you purchased second-hand?
That's easy - lululemon bike shorts off ebay. Weather is warmer and I'm done with leggings, so I turned to my ebay clothing habit.

Last 5 other ebay finds:
1) A striped banana republic sweater dress
2) The book "Brave Companions" by David McCullough
3) Size 8 running shoes for Josie
4) Liz Claiborn sweater, tall size. 100% cotton and I have worn it ALL THE TIME
5) Wordlock combination padlock for use on my gym locker

This list spans back to January - obviously, since I was buying something for going to the gym. So my ebay purchase rate is more than once a month, but not once a week.

What’s a dish you cannot resist a second helping of?
Last night marc made fish tacos with lime sauce. I made two, and had a side of black beans. Went back for a third, then finished off with the healthy low carb option: pile of all ingredients in the middle of the plate. It was SO GOOD.

How many seconds can you go right now without blinking?
I went 45 second then just got bored with the experiment.

Whose second album is much better than their debut album?
Oh definitely The Smashing Pumpkins. Some of us went back in time to check out Gish but only after Siamese Dream, which was actually popular and definitely amazing. I'm tempted to say that any artist worth their salt figures out a way to improve on every album.

What’s something for which you were runner-up?
As a pre-teen I won second place in the women's division of the chautauqua county fair cowchip throwing contest. I really should have some good track and field memory to share now, I will think about those favorites some more.
