found this through digitalwave's journal:

wish_list

it's like gofundme for livejournal. some links to fundraising sites, some paypal addresses, all just people in tough situations. but I like that it's livejournallers helping livejournallers, there are so many good people here. And I trust them.

When people on fundraising sites ask for help you always have to kinda wonder if they're authentic, right?

Well when I see a livejournal profile that's a decade old with 3,000 entries, that's a PRETTY GOOD SIGN that there's a real person and story behind the request.

Thanks so much for the plug, sweetie!

I started wish_list as a central place for everyone to post their Holiday wish lists several years ago. I converted it to year round a couple of years ago when I saw the need for a site like it growing more and more. I thought that it could be a real force for good here on lj, and not just during the holidays each year.

I love seeing it be more active, the more it's used, the more we can get help to those who really need it. :)

true, someone looking for easy cash isn't going to bother working that hard for it. I get wary of people with a short sob story on tumblr. If maybe they had gone to a charity and the charity asks for money I might believe them.
