Sometimes it's funny to look back...

One year ago around this time I was off birth control, 25 days into my cycle, and had waaaay too much to drink at a friend's "I'm shipping off to the Navy" party. Hey, I support our troops.

A couple days later I felt really mad at myself for not paying attention to the days so I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. Phew! I vowed to do better the next month, no drinking unless I was within 1-2 weeks of my period, which would surely show up ANY DAY.

It didn't.

I would like to congratulate everyone who answered this poll correctly though - that test was a little vague but it turns out that a little vague means "hope you're on prenatals!"

And fast forward a year - we've got this little lady!

I think both times I found out I was pregnant I tried to close my eyes and see the future. Check for messages from my next year's self, "remember forward" like merlin the wizard. See if there was really a baby, and if there was, try to see its face. Of course nothing showed up. I'd open my eyes and be the same clueless person stuck in the year I was at. Maybe it's all for the best.

i did not see that poll in live time, but OMG that is undeniably positive. i have seen squinters way way fainter than that which turned into pregnancies. seriously, you were in some serious denial :-)
