But anyway, I'm writing here to say I'm terribly proud of my entry for this week's spoonflower fabric design contest. I enter these contests a lot, almost never talk about it, because my chances of doing well are pretty low and again, any more, when I get creative it's for me. They had an 8-bit graphics contest a few weeks back and I made a design with girls flying purple airplanes that went nowhere in the contest. But you know, who gives a crap. I think the world needs more cuteness airplane fabric. I had a test swatch made up of the fabric, and it's framed on the wall of my sewing room, I have deep love for it.
But then they announced a contest for pencil cases and I was like okay I HAVE to get this one in the bag, I'm a PENCIL CASE MAKER, I have made at least several hundred zipper pouches in the past 3-4 years. I love them. Tiny bits of fabric, wholesale zippers bought at bulk prices, it's my favorite thing to make. So I designed fabric to make this pencil case that looks like a bite of sushi:
It's getting lots more comments than my other contest entries do... it'll probably also go no where and I'll be terribly sad but you know, at least I tried.
Anyway I don't want to be all "vote for mee!" because those posts are super annoying, I think I ranted once on spacefem.com that if one more facebook friend asked me to vote for their kid in some cute baby contest so they'd win a $10 gift card I was leaving facebook forever. but if you're bored it is kinda fun to look at all the pencil cases (and spoonflower in general), the contest voting is on the right of this page.
