Friday was Cinco de Mayo, so we celebrated by grilling hamburgers. I've seen plenty of mexicans grill hamburgers so it's fine. We also had chips and queso and margaritas (duh) and about six people came over. I've learned to make frozen margaritas and it's pretty exciting... I never order them in restaurants, because usually if you order a margarita on the rocks you get one made fresh for you at the bar, but if you order one frozen it comes out of this big spinning slushie machine and it's disgusting. I hate the taste of cuevo margarita mix. they make okay tequila (okay... not great, at our house we buy sauza when the price is right) but the mix doesn't resemble anything that I think a drink should be. Really, I hate all margarita mix. People shouldn't buy it... it's overpriced and stupid.
which brings me to... Spacefem's Quick Fast Frozen Margarita
You will need:
1 regular can of frozen limeaid
The same can of tequila
Half that can of triple sec
Mix liquids (not ice) in a pitcher and you'll probably have about 1 liter of margarita concentrate, as I call it. Put half of it in the pitcher, and then fill with ice until the pitcher is at 1 liter (if you used a little can of limeaid you'll only have half a liter anyway so you won't have to split it up... you also might have a huge pitcher, we don't). Blend until, um, blended. Bueno!
For not so fast but better frozen margaritas, mix frozen limeaid, tequilla, and triple sec with two cans of water and put it in the freezer overnight. The alcohol will keep it from freezing through. That's the style way to do it but it takes planning, which heavy drinkers like me and my roommates don't have.
Okay well damn I spent so much time talking about margaritas I have no time for Saturday... not much went on there anyway, we recovered, went shopping, tried to stay out of the rain, went to the club last night, it was good times.
