We got home a little after 1 and went to bed. I woke up at 8 and did some computer work (I've been working on a content/calendar management system that I plan to use across several websites). Woke my sister up a little later. She sleeps in a lot better than I do.
We'd kind of missed church so we decided to crack out body products and have a spa day. I haven't actually sat around and done this but it was great. so relaxing! We put on facial masks and did foot scrubs and watched "Supersize Me", which I'd rented from netflix.
We also decided that there was no time like the present for a cocktail, so I got out the martini shaker and we started in on cosmopolitians. This kind of stemmed from a story she told about going to Scotland (she spent like two weeks there this past spring) where she noticed that the scots tend to drink some, so she said to one of the locals, "There's kind of a stigma where I come from about drinking early... people say you're not really supposed to drink before noon. Do they say that here?" I guess the guy was totally shocked and taken aback. "Not supposed to drink before noon? What? What people say that? Who says that!" He was, like, offended that someone would frown upon a morning drink, so in honor of that precious multi-cultural moment we started in.
When the movie was over we rinsed off and felt great and exfoliated and pretty drunk, since we're both lightweights. I'd had like four cosmos. Tried to watch some of the DVD special features but I got to that point where I couldn't really push the buttons on the remote. I laid on the floor and felt the air conditioning air blowing over me.
TWO HOURS LATER I woke up in bed. I'm not sure I remember walking in there, but I must have. I couldn't find my glasses. sis was still on the couch and we both sort of gradually came back to the world feeling pretty bad but complimenting one another on our glowing, radiant skin and soft looking feet. We both looked for my glasses for about thirty minutes before finding them on a side table.
We laid about some more and then decided to get dressed (radical notion, that) and go get something to eat. We ended up at Il Vicino and it was yummy. Came back, loaded up her car, and she left, and here I am. I gave her the aquarium that I used to keep the parakeets in. She's going to use it for her hermit crabs. I also gave her my side tables that I've been trying to get rid of.
So all in all it was a really great day, and it was so good to see her. We talked about how we'll be able to visit one another a lot more often since she's no longer a college student and doesn't have to study... yay! It's fun.
