I had a lovely day. In the morning I woke up and drove downtown for the river run 10k, which was awesome. There were lots of guys from work there to chat with before the race (everyone near Wichita who runs does this!) and I felt pretty good throughout the run. I have no idea what my finishing time was. I'm not sure when they'll post results, but there wasn't anything showing times at the finish and I forgot my watch. I know that I was just over 50 minutes at the five mile mark, so I'm guessing I was under 65 minutes, but that last mile kind of killed. I picked it up and felt great for miles 3 and 4, felt pretty good at 5, but just felt dead after that. So I know I didn't break an hour, which was really my goal. sigh. maybe next year.
Then I went back to the apartment and showered and relaxed and had lunch and went back out for general riverfesting fun. I went to the art fair and browsed through used books and sat outside and listened to acoustic music.
Came back here to start studying for finals a bit. I also put in a movie, "House of Flying Daggers", which I enjoyed very much. Hell, really, it's about a girl who has problems balancing her political efforts with her love life. I can relate.
In the end, she choses love. and so everyone dies. what's that telling me?
