random acts of unkindness

i woke up this morning and went running and showered and put on a very cute new outfit to go to church. it's really bad that my decisions on which church service to go to depend on what i've got to wear. but anyway, i go outside and there's no air in one of my tires.

now, i know the tire was fine yesterday, and I aired it up and it's been fine since, so i'm guessing that someone let the air out of it to be funny. that's fucking annoying.

i just don't understand people sometimes. my car was vandalized really bad a few months ago and i never did find out who was responsible. did i do some dumb, annoying stuff as a kid? sure. we put toilet paper in people's trees at night, re-arranged garden gnomes, pulled signs out of yards and put them all in one yard. was it annoying? yes. but as much as I hate to be all, "kids these days..." I really can't relate to someone who'd fuck with cars for fun on the weekends.

there are people in the world who are just clinically insane, sure. evil murderers and abusers and all that. then there are normal people who I like to think are about like me. but the vandalism that goes on around here makes me think they're not like me, they're just shitheads who don't care.

i had a friend in college once who told me he never rewinded movies before returning them to the video store. I was like, "But then the next person who rents the movie has to wait before they can watch it, don't you think that's annoying?" He was like, "Whatever. fuck 'em."

He wasn't my friend anymore after that. Totally ruined my whole opinion of him. People criticized me for taking the situation too seriously but you know, someone's got to take something seriously in this world sometimes. There'd be a lot less assholes in every once in a while, someone would turn to them and say, "you know what? i'm done accepting the fact that you're an asshole. i'm done with you."

the thing about screwing around with people's houses, their lawn gnomes or whatnot, is that that can be fixed at their leisure. But air out of a tire? That has to be dealt with as soon as it's discovered. Because when it's discovered, you're about to go out and do something. And not rewinding movies? The only time a person finds that out is when they're about to watch it. So they have to deal with it right then. A major inconvenience for the former, a minor one for the latter. Which is just ass-hole-ish. So I don't blame you for dropping that friend. In fact, good for you!

one time I rented a movie, I thought was Critters 2, ended up being Drop Dead Fred. Of course, I was like, 10, and it didn't matter because I ended up loving Drop Dead Fred.

But most video stores have a little rewinding machine they use to rewind all the tapes. But with the advent of DVD, no more rewinding! So, it's soon to be a thing of the past.

As for the tire, it could be a leaky value, or a bad intertube also. But I take it from those apartments there, there are asshole bastrad kids around with nothing better to do then to randomly let air out of tires. Karma will get them, hopefully, if Darwin doesn't get to them first. :D

Car tires are typically tubeless--they don't have innertubes.

don't feel dumb. common belief. the tire could just have a slow leak from a loose valve stem or something else. sometimes those can't be fixed and that's when you put an innertube in. give the tire a couple of days to go flat again. and check the pressure often. i'd like to give those asshat kids the benefit of the doubt first. i too have papered my fair share of houses.... but notthing like what spacefem is talking about.

woot to there being actual crap people int he world. Only in recent months have I come to accept that there are people not worth my time who don't have acceptable morals.

Harsh, yes. But I'm protected thus form people who are harmful and ultimately out for their own good (or no one's good at all)

Alas. No one cares for anyone else anymore. That's New York 24-7 though, so the vandelism doesn't surprise me, i'm sorry.

I totally understand about the video rewinding. People are always telling me that I take issues like that too seriously, but I agree that sometimes we need to take something seriously! Thanks for making me feel normal! Sort of.... =)
