friday 5: go jump in a lake

First! I would like to invite my friends list to join in on a livejournal friendzy that I posted yesterday in honor of my lj anniversary. I posted it, lj promptly broke and I got no comments all day, but now it has some replies and there are good people to add in there. With room for more!

Back to our scheduled programming though, today is friday and so I will answer these questions from f.riday5.com

Where would you go if someone asked you to go jump in the lake?
We typically to to Toronto Lake at the Cross Timbers State Park, but the swimming beach only gets a few feet deep and there's nothing to jump off of, so that's tough. I've heard I need to go to Wilson Lake.

Where would you go if someone asked you to take a hike?
Kanapolis State Park has some great trails. I really want to go on more hikes though, actually join that women hiking group I joined on facebook, they go so many great places.

Where would you go if someone asked you to take a long walk off a short pier?
We don't have piers in Kansas so I have no idea.

Where would you go if someone asked you to go climb a tree?
The best tree was at the house where I grew up, in St. Louis. We had a tulip tree I loved to climb. My friends and I would hang out in the branches and smell the flowers and sometimes, if my parents were unaware, go up on our roof.

Where would you go if someone asked you to go fly a kite?
Eastview park or Edgemoor park in Wichita are the places for kite-flying! But really, you do not have to go anywhere too far in Kansas for kite flying. There are lots of days that will work. The bigger concern is wind... is it SO windy that it's going to tear up your kite? There are kites for all winds. Kite nerds are real. Ask one of them if you want to go fly a kite, they'll really give you the earful on it.
