cool birthdays

I've been talking with baby a little bit, letting her know about the cool events on upcoming dates that she'd be able to share a birthday with:

June 8 - First public version of PHP is released
June 9 - First ever trans-Pacific flight from the United States mainland to Australia
June 11 - Gene Wilder's birthday
June 12 - Anne Frank's birthday, also the day she begins her diary
June 13 - 2010 Wichita Pridefest, we'd make some calls and have a huge very public announcement
June 14 - Flag day, also Harriet Beecher Stowe's birthday (Harriet is still on the name list, this could bump it up)
June 15 - My grandma's birthday
June 16 - Valentina Tereshkova became the first woman in space
June 17 - MC Escher's birthday
June 19 - Freedom Day/Juneteenth
June 20 - Father's day
June 21 - Summer Solstice. Also, pick this day to be a Cancer and not a Gemini.

After that the decision isn't so much up to her. Doctors don't like to let us go a full two weeks overdue, so her birthday will be a result of artificial hormones. There's a threat.

I'm not offended about the idea of being overdue in five days, I'm not sick to death of being pregnant, it's just kind of tough not knowing what's going to happen from day to day. There's this nasty feeling:

"Your whole life is going to change!"

"Really? When?"

"Sometime. You know, whenever."
