libertarians and natural disasters

My dad sent me this - it's an interesting perspective on the Katrina disaster and how it proves that government dependency fails. The author comes off as really insensitive, which is too bad because I hate thinking of libertarians that way, but there are grains of truth in there. A lot of people are starting to admit that the government is doing a horrible job, but instead of looking to organizations that can do a good job, they just wish the government was better. Every year millions of americans scratch their heads and wonder why life isn't perfect because they voted in dumb instead of dumber.

Being a libertarian is all about refusing to accept the ongoing disapointment that is the federal government. C'mon, all... break on through to the other side.
