i never claimed to be stable

wrote some not-so-nice things about my friend walter in my friend mike's livejournal. didn't think it was being read by concerned parties, i was just pissed off and felt like venting and walter made a great target that day because mike wasn't so happy with him either. i somehow doubt the right people are reading this, but if so, i'm sorry walter, you're not stupid and i shouldn't have said what i did about you. it's deleted now, it's all gone.

it's been one of those weeks for me, not that that's any excuse, only horrible people take their anger out on the innocent.

tuesday night i stayed so late at the tech center i forgot about my own floor meeting. that was great.
last night i worked until way too late on a brochure for our group project that's too high in production expenses to use anyway. that was great too.

i really with i had time to work on spacefem.com, now that it's mine.

i also want to re-format my hard drive.

i also want to clean my room.

i want to clean my life. but i'm tired, having one of those weeks where school takes priority over things like meals and showers. it's advisory board, they're coming tomorrow, and our presentation is very important. uhg, i feel like i'm drowning and can't see an end to it any time soon. oh well, enough livejournaling, it's time for our hero to get back to the library.

i also want to re-format my hard drive.

why would you want to do a thing like that? :) i haven't mussed with mine in years and it's still running fine...

it's running fine, i just don't like how i partitioned it. the results of my first linux attempt and serveral interesting software installations are laying all over it, it's not spectacular :)

yeah, mine had some "interesting" software installations on it... but i think the last time i partitioned that main drive was in... uh, let's see... 1998? and i've collected a lot of software since then, making that system pretty much my "optimal" setup, less the hardware... so i'm not too keen on the idea of wiping it :) so i just spent like 5 hours cleaning up my disks and whatnot. it was good good fun. :)

i'm a fan of pretty simple partition setups - i usually do 15 megs for /boot, stick in some swap space, separate parition for my home dir (/dave) and then leave the rest as /... of course, i have 3 hard drives, so one is /dave, 1 is swap + /boot + /, 1 is /mp3... but yeah... you'd know that if you've read my computers page... i'm a nerd. hehe. anyway. with linux and a stable file system, i would recommend as few partitions as possible, because it's not likely you'll ever lose a single partition without losing the whole hard drive anyway, and that way, you don't run out of space in /usr because you thought 400 megs would be enough :)

sorry I pulled you onto my bandwagon Kimmy
Lindsey told me that I shouldn't wish Walter were dead, and that if he wasn't with Lindsey, I might even like the guy... unfortuanately (for me) that is not at all the case, but I feel guilty for all the negitive Karma that I am generating down at Pittstate... I think I really just aught to shell up and let you all live and love however you want and just pretend the world comes to an abrupt end 2 miles south of Louisburg... I didn't know Lindsey was going to share your response to my live journal with groups and groups of people, or else I would have tried to set things up so she couldn't get ahold of the comments like that. Sorry I helped ruin your week.

heh, have you seen pittsburg? getting an applebees in this town was front page news, trust me, it won't take that much imagination. but in other news, i think things will be okay eventually, don't feel bad about my situation.

(actually, walter lives on the north side of campus, so following your lead i could pretend the world ends abruptly somewhere in the middle of yates hall. bothers me to risk cutting the math department off from my little world, but if things get too hairy, sacrifices must be made)

Who really needs math anyhow?

math is power!
that's not funny mike! don't make me have to start derivin'!
