Dad pointed this article out to me, it really brings out some issues about online relationships and how we feel like we're part of something, but in reality shut ourselves in the dark when we cut off ties to everything but the internet. This woman's online friends learned of her death weeks after she died alone in her apartment, she had no other friends.
The people who knew her in real life didn't know her online and the people who knew her online didn't know her in real life. In the end, real life was what mattered. It's a depressing article (especially for someone like me who probably spends waaaay too much time dwelling on the issues of my stupid website!)
