But I don't think I can keep this up because my hamstrings are KILLING ME. not so much during the run, but for way too long afterwards. something is off. I'll feel great while I'm out there but really pay the price for the rest of the day. and the day after. and apparently the day after that. Since I run at least every other day, I'm now to the point where I never feel recovered... which must be a red flag.
I was warned when I started physical therapy that I had tight hamstrings contributing to my back problems and that running would not improve this. Running works the front of your body not the back of it, she said.
I thought my legs had a "good job you worked hard" muscle soreness. It's hard to draw that line. but I think I'm drawing it. It's especially bad on my right side. I stretch and stretch and stretch and they're never okay. So maybe I need to go back to walking, which has some benefits but I don't feel as enthused about it.
From what I'm reading my hamstrings are overtightened from unbalanced quadriceps and unless I stop and build up strength in my back body, I'm going to hurt myself. I guess my home workouts aren't doing it. I don't feel comfortable going to the gym or physical therapy yet with the pandemic.
