Leave your Boeing friends alone?

Speaking from experience here friends.

When the company you work for announces major layoffs, you don't know anything.  You don't know if it's you, that's for sure.  You don't know what's next for you.  All you know is that you got the same talking points that were sent to the local paper.

But despite of your ignorance, you get contacted by a lot of people.  A lot just want your insider perspective.  Others are friends who want you to know they care.  But they're all bugging you, and it's rough, and it really drives home how powerless you feel.  The best thing to do is keep your head down, think slowly, keep your ears open for opportunities... but you can't because of the text messages and emails and facebook messages you're working to ignore.

So this week Boeing announced they're closing Wichita facilities and it sucks, but if you know any of the 2000-some people affected, try to leave them alone a bit.  They already feel like they're being gawked at.

well, I do not work for boeing, so this is not my year for the drama! I've just been through craziness like this before, and feel for what they're going through now.

I...am confused? I didn't think you worked for Boeing? I am assuming this is because you know people who work(ed) at those facilities?

Ooh, just saw your comment above. Yay for me not being crazy! My heart still goes out to those who are affected though. : /
